PLATELET-RICH PLASMA (PRP)
What exactly is PRP?

We all have platelets in our blood. PRP is 3-step procedure that involves having your blood:

Drawn from your arm

Placed into a machine that separates the platelets from the rest of your blood

Re-injected into you (only the part of your blood that contains a high concentration of platelets).
What is it?

Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) is a safe, cost effective treatment for facial rejuvenation to improve facial complexion, texture and lost facial volume. I can reduce the visibility of wrinkles, scars, sun damage, age spots, and dark circles under the eyes. Reversing signs of aging while getting regenerative, anti-inflammatory and rejuvenating effects is possible with PRP.

PRP therapy uses your own blood plasma to stimulate cell growth, tissue repair, new collagen and elastin production. The key to harnessing platelets in our blood is to draw a blood sample and then process it using a centrifuge to separate the platelet rich plasma from the other parts of the blood. This concentrated 'liquid gold' can then be used for several different treatment options.

PRP is the perfect treatment for patients who are just getting started in aesthetics, seeking a high reward 'maintenance' treatment, or before an event when you want your complexion to look its best. The results of a PRP treatment are long lasting. Although it takes a few sessions (about 3) depending on what you want to rejuvenate and your particular skin status, the results can last for up to two years. This also depends on the patient's lifestyle.

Skin Rejuvenation

While outcomes vary, patients see improved skin texture and tone, minimizing the appearance of pores, smooths wrinkles and fine lines, and minimizes the appearance of hyperpigmentation and scarring (e.g. acne & stretch marks).

PRP can be combined with micro-needling for best results or it can also be injected directly. The platelets are injected into the deep dermis or fat layer of the skin. Platelets gradually increase collagen which can increase skin thickness and overall health of the skin. Collagen rejuvenation can take from 6 weeks depending on the condition of your skin and lifestyle. More then one treatment will be necessary if the skin is mature. Many patients will start to see results after three months and will continue to see improvements over time.
